Kim Gravel is celebrating a major milestone at QVC — and giving fans a look at what it takes to power through an action-packed 24 hours on live television.
The Belle by Kim Gravel founder marked her 10th anniversary with QVC on Sunday, August 23, by launching her first home-themed Today’s Special Value. The collection featured illuminated pampas wreaths, garland and mini trees designed for the holiday season and beyond.
“This is the best TSV I think we’ve ever done in any category,” Gravel, 55, told Us Weekly ahead of the anniversary event.
Although Gravel has built a successful business through fashion, her LWYA beauty line and a recently launched jewelry collection, she said home design has always been especially meaningful to her.
“When I say fashion’s my day job, home is my hot side hustle,” she explained. “Home is my heart.”
Gravel said her interest extends to textiles, bedding and the overall atmosphere people create inside their homes, describing home aesthetics as an important part of everyday life.
The entrepreneur has also developed a close connection with QVC viewers throughout her decade on the network. Her live appearances regularly feature phone calls from shoppers and viewer messages known as “textimonials.”
For Gravel, that relationship with viewers is at the center of what she does.
“The customer and the viewer is our boss, but she’s our friend. She’s our family. She’s our sisterhood,” she said. “That is why I do what I do.”
Her anniversary Today’s Special Value began at midnight on August 23 alongside QVC host Shawn Killinger. Gravel said the demanding schedule left only a few hours between the initial presentation and her morning appearances.
“We get about four and a half hours between kickoff and then the [morning shows], and I do take little naps here and there, but I’m running,” she said. “You’re just running on your adrenaline.”
Gravel also worked with veteran hosts Leah Williams and Rick Domeier during the event. Rather than spending extensive time rehearsing immediately before going live, Gravel said she prefers keeping things spontaneous — even joking that she might be getting miked only minutes before airtime.
Another important part of the experience was working with longtime friend and QVC program host Mary DeAngelis. Gravel said their real-life friendship helps create a natural chemistry on camera.
Behind the scenes, the pace wasn’t always glamorous. Gravel revealed that she and best friend Amy Goins share a dressing room, where their organizational styles couldn’t be more different. While Goins keeps her space neat and color coordinated, Gravel jokingly described herself as a “Tasmanian devil.”
The long hours also required plenty of fuel. With the QVC cafeteria closed during the weekend, Gravel joked that Kit Kat bars became a frequent snack.
“I run on Mountain Dew, KitKat bars and Alka Seltzer,” she said.
Gravel wrapped up her marathon day with a final presentation of the Today’s Special Value during the 9 p.m. broadcast of All Season’s Greetings with Sandra Bennett.
After a full day of live television, Gravel admitted recovery takes some time.
“I’d say it takes me about a good day and a half, two days, to recover,” she said.
After 10 years at QVC, Gravel’s anniversary celebration offered viewers more than a new home collection — it also provided a rare glimpse at the energy, teamwork and preparation behind one of her biggest days on the network.
