Ella Bright and Belmont Cameli quickly became fan favorites after starring as Hannah and Garrett in Prime Video’s Off Campus, but recent social media speculation has left some viewers wondering whether their off-screen friendship has changed.
Based on Elle Kennedy’s Off-Campus book series, the show follows an elite college hockey team and the people closest to them as they navigate romance, heartbreak, friendship and the transition into adulthood. Bright and Cameli’s characters were at the center of season 1, which debuted in May 2026.
Away from the cameras, the two costars developed a close friendship while filming. Despite fans hoping their chemistry might turn into a real-life romance, Bright made it clear that their relationship was strictly platonic.
Their bond was visible throughout the months leading up to the show’s premiere. In January 2026, Bright and Cameli appeared together on the red carpet alongside their Off Campus castmates. They later posed together at an April premiere event and continued making public appearances as promotion for the series increased.
In May, the pair told Us that they had become close friends while working together.
“Ella and I are really, really good friends,” Cameli said, explaining that the two spent plenty of time together on set. Bright also praised the experience, saying the cast’s enthusiasm for the project helped relieve some of the pressure that came with bringing the popular book series to life.
That same month, Bright and Cameli confirmed that fans could expect to continue seeing their characters even though future seasons are set to focus on different couples.
Their friendly public appearances continued into June, when they attended Prime Video’s Obsessed Fest together.
By July, Bright directly addressed fans who hoped she and Cameli might become a couple off screen. She said she understood why viewers enjoyed their chemistry but described Cameli as “literally my brother.”
Bright also pointed out that Cameli has been dating TV writer Raina Morris since 2025 and spoke warmly about Morris as well.
In September 2026, Bright and Cameli appeared together in a Prime Video video thanking fans for the overwhelming response to season 1 and confirming that production on season 2 was underway.
The appearance came after some social media users speculated about a possible feud. According to the claims, Cameli appeared to have deleted or archived several Instagram posts that included Bright.
Neither Bright nor Cameli has publicly confirmed that there is any tension between them, and the pair did not directly address the online speculation in their season 2 announcement.
For now, their history of public support, interviews and appearances remains a major part of the friendship fans have followed since Off Campus first arrived.
