‘Ginny & Georgia’ Star Sara Waisglass Teases Season 4 Return: ‘The Payoff Is Amazing’

Ginny & Georgia fans may still be waiting for season 4, but Sara Waisglass says the next chapter is coming sooner than some viewers might expect.

Waisglass, 28, who plays Max on the Netflix series, teased the upcoming season during an exclusive interview with Us.

Reflecting on past gaps between seasons, she joked that the wait between seasons 1 and 2 was “heinous,” though the pandemic played a major role in the delay.

This time around, Waisglass says fans should not expect another years-long wait.

The actress explained that season 3 was filmed in 2024 and released in 2025, while season 4 was filmed in 2025.

“People aren’t going to have to wait three years for it,” she said.

Although Netflix has not officially announced a release date, Waisglass repeatedly emphasized that season 4 is coming “soon.”

She also teased that the story will make the wait worthwhile.

“I do think the payoff is amazing,” Waisglass said, adding that the show’s dedicated fan base makes each new season especially exciting for the cast.

Season 3 ended with several major developments.

Ginny, played by Antonia Gentry, and her brother Austin helped their mother Georgia avoid prison by framing her ex, Gil, for murder.

Their new reality quickly became complicated when Ginny realized Georgia was pregnant.

The finale left viewers without an answer about whether estranged husband Paul or longtime love interest Joe is the father.

Waisglass also hinted that season 4’s ending could potentially work either as a conclusion to the series or as an opening for more seasons.

She said she likes that the story leaves viewers with a “wink, wink, nudge, nudge” rather than completely closing the door.

Max will also have plenty to deal with in the upcoming season.

Season 3 showed her becoming increasingly separated from her friend group while also trying to help her brother Marcus through his struggles with drinking and mental health.

According to Waisglass, season 4 will dig even deeper into Max’s perspective, including her attempts to repair her friendships.

The season will also explore Max and Marcus’ sibling relationship at a particularly difficult point.

Waisglass described them as an “amazing dynamic duo,” but said season 4 finds them more at odds than ever before.

Fans have also become increasingly interested in Max’s relationship with Abby, played by Katie Douglas.

Waisglass said their dynamic is handled very intentionally in season 4 and teased that viewers are in for a “wild ride,” though she stopped short of revealing whether the pair’s friendship will become romantic.

For now, one thing appears certain: Ginny & Georgia season 4 is on its way — and Waisglass believes fans will be happy they waited.

Ginny & Georgia is currently streaming on Netflix.
