Minka Kelly is saying goodbye to Ransom Canyon after Netflix officially canceled the series following two seasons.

Kelly, 46, reacted to the news on Friday, September 11, sharing an emotional message with fans and her costars.

“Appreciating this little trip down memory lane as we say farewell,” she wrote on Instagram. “All good things must come to an end. And so it is.”

Kelly also thanked viewers for supporting the show through its two-season run.

“Thank you all for giving us two beautiful seasons! I love you forever my Ransom Canyon family!!” she added.

Her costar Garrett Wareing also responded to the cancellation, posting a short farewell message of his own.

“Cowboys live forever. Onward,” he wrote.

Netflix’s decision not to move forward with season 3 was confirmed on Thursday, September 10.

The cancellation means several storylines that were already being developed will never make it to the screen.

Before the series ended, showrunner April Blair had discussed plans for a potential third season, particularly for Staten, played by Josh Duhamel, and Quinn, played by Kelly.

Blair said she viewed Staten and Quinn as the central relationship of the show and did not intend to repeatedly separate and reunite them.

Instead, season 3 would have explored what happens after the couple finally chooses to be together.

According to Blair, the next chapter would have focused on the realities of maintaining a relationship, including secrets, personal struggles and new obstacles.

She also teased that Staten could have faced survivor’s guilt, while Quinn may have had secrets of her own that would complicate their future together.

The showrunner said season 3 was already partially developed in the writers’ room before Netflix pulled the plug.

Rather than focusing on whether Staten and Quinn would stay together, the planned season would have explored whether their relationship could survive the challenges that came after finally committing to one another.

For Kelly, however, the cancellation marks the end of what she described as two “beautiful” seasons with the cast and crew.

Ransom Canyon is currently streaming on Netflix.
