Chase “Huddy” Hudson is embracing his Nation’s Dumbest season 1 win and says he’s wearing the title like a “badge of honor.” Speaking exclusively, Hudson said he doesn’t see the result as a bad thing and believes it could actually help him in the long run. He also noted that being the first-ever winner of the show gives him a unique place in its history.
Huddy explained that many of the questions on the show were difficult, random and often designed to stump contestants, which made the competition hard to prepare for. Even so, he said he did study topics like sports teams, capitals, landmarks and coins before filming. Looking back, he feels better knowing that many viewers told him they would have struggled with the same questions.
The musician also reflected on how his ADHD may have affected his experience, explaining that it is easier for him to understand questions when he can read them instead of only hearing them. He said the show also reminded him that his strengths have always been in music, fashion, culture and art, and he appreciated getting a chance to show that side of himself.
Beyond the show, Huddy is focused on the next chapter of his career. He is celebrating the release of his new album Somebody to Hate, which he says is inspired by his personal journey, public criticism and the process of taking his power back. He also revealed that he is working on a jewelry brand, creating more music, considering a tour, and continuing to pursue acting opportunities.
