Jessica Alba is sharing the heartfelt meaning behind the matching tattoo she got with her daughter, Honor Warren.

The 45-year-old actress took to Instagram on Friday, August 21, to reveal the inspiration behind the delicate fine-line wrist tattoos she and Honor, 18, got earlier this summer.

“Forever connected and protected, my baby girl,” Alba wrote alongside the post, adding a series of heart, evil-eye and sparkling emojis while tagging Honor.

The mother-daughter design features a small eye with a tiny infinity symbol underneath. Alba also shared an image of a pink heart with a blue eye at its center, surrounded by colorful dots and curved lines, which appeared to help inspire the symbolic tattoo.

Celebrity tattoo artist Daniel Winter, professionally known as Winterstone, created the matching designs. Photos shared by Alba showed the pair getting tattooed on the inside of their wrists before proudly displaying the finished result together.

Fans quickly embraced the sentimental meaning behind the tattoos, with several praising the close bond between Alba and her daughter.

The matching ink carries even more meaning as Honor prepares for a major new chapter. She is set to attend Yale University, making the permanent symbol of their connection especially significant as she prepares to leave home for college.

Alba recently acknowledged that the transition is an emotional milestone for any parent. She described the experience of preparing for Honor to leave for college as “intense,” adding that it is something parents simply have to face when the moment arrives.

For Alba and Honor, their matching tattoos now serve as a lasting reminder that even as life takes them in different directions, their mother-daughter bond remains permanent.
