Princess Kate Middleton stepped out with a noticeably lighter look during a family outing in Scotland.
The Princess of Wales, 44, was photographed on Sunday, August 23, arriving at Crathie Kirk Church in Aberdeenshire alongside members of her family. Kate appeared in good spirits as she rode in a vehicle with her husband, Prince William, while their eldest son, Prince George, 13, was visible in the back.
For the outing, Kate wore a pillbox hat with a white pie-crust-collar blouse and blazer. She completed the polished ensemble with gold earrings.
Her hair, styled in loose waves, drew particular attention. Kate’s chestnut-brown locks featured fresh blonde highlights that created a warmer, honey-toned appearance.
The royal has experimented with lighter hair before. Last fall, she debuted another brighter shade while visiting the newly renovated gardens at London’s Natural History Museum.
Kate’s latest style update comes as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle prepare for a reported extended return to the United Kingdom.
According to People, Harry, 41, and Meghan, 45, are expected to relocate with their children for an extended period beginning this month. Their son, Prince Archie, 7, and daughter, Princess Lilibet, 5, are reportedly set to begin school in the U.K. in September.
The report said Harry and Meghan will continue maintaining their Montecito, California, residence and vacation property in Portugal while also having a non-royal property in Britain.
King Charles III reportedly learned of Harry’s plans on August 16 and is said to welcome the opportunity to spend private time with his son, Meghan and their children. Us Weekly previously reached out to representatives for Harry and Meghan for comment.
Prince William and Kate have not publicly addressed the reported move.
Royal author Christopher Andersen speculated to Us that Harry and Meghan’s return could create additional media attention for the royal family, particularly as William and Kate continue carrying significant responsibilities within the monarchy.
“They have so much on their plate as it is trying to shore up the monarchy and propel it into the future,” Andersen said.
