The Outer Banks star, 33, recently addressed online speculation that he has undergone plastic surgery, calling it the “most ridiculous assumption” people have made about him.
During the Tuesday, September 1 episode of the I’ve Never Said This Before podcast, Stokes said he has seen doctors online analyze his face and claim that he had procedures including an upper blepharoplasty and lip work. According to the actor, however, the speculation is completely inaccurate.
“On the record, I will say it, I’ve never had any work done on my face,” Stokes said.
The actor admitted that he finds it particularly surprising when medical professionals confidently speculate about procedures he allegedly had without personally knowing him. Stokes joked that some of the detailed online analyses were so far off that the doctors behind them should reconsider making those claims.
Despite the rumors, Stokes said he has learned not to get too involved in online discussions. While he used to spend more time engaging with social media comments, he now believes responding often gives negative speculation even more attention.
Stokes has also recently spoken openly about prioritizing his health following the end of his time playing John B. on Outer Banks. He previously revealed that he experienced serious health issues after leaving the show and had to focus on getting himself back to a healthier baseline.
The actor has since changed his fitness and nutrition routine as he moves into the next chapter of his career. With Outer Banks now behind him, Stokes is preparing for new opportunities, including his upcoming role as pit crew member Ronnie Whitlock in AMC’s Thunder Road.
For Stokes, the transition appears to be about more than changing his appearance or physique. He is now focused on feeling healthier, preparing for demanding roles, and putting his energy into his work rather than worrying about online speculation
