Influencers Matt and Abby Howard have welcomed a baby boy, marking a joyful new chapter for their growing family after previously experiencing a devastating pregnancy loss.
Matt announced the happy news on Instagram on Monday, August 17, sharing an emotional photo of Abby shortly after giving birth with their newborn resting on her chest.
“He’s here!!!!” Matt wrote, adding that the couple has been enjoying their first days together as a family of five and plans to gradually share more from the past week with their followers.
The newborn joins Matt and Abby’s two older sons, Griffin and August, who were born in 2022 and 2023, respectively.
The couple first announced their latest pregnancy in March, describing their baby as their “rainbow baby” following the heartbreaking loss of their daughter during a previous pregnancy.
Matt and Abby had announced in 2025 that they were expecting their third child, but in September of that year, they revealed that a routine appointment had brought devastating news when doctors were unable to find a heartbeat.
According to the couple, further testing showed that their baby girl had a genetic condition and had died at around 17 weeks of pregnancy.
Matt and Abby later spoke openly about their grief while also expressing gratitude for the time they had with their daughter and hope for their family’s future.
Abby has also discussed the emotional experience of returning to the hospital for the induction process following the loss. During an appearance on “The Squeeze” podcast, she described the experience as painfully similar to giving birth while knowing she would not be bringing her baby home.
Now, the arrival of their newborn son represents an especially meaningful moment for Matt and Abby as they begin life as a family of five while continuing to honor the daughter they lost.
