‘Mormon Wives’ Star Layla Taylor Reveals Plastic Surgery Regrets After Paying to Fix Past Procedures

Layla Taylor is getting candid about her experience with plastic surgery — including the procedures she now wishes she had approached differently.

The 25-year-old Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star opened up during the August 5 episode of the “Get Real” podcast, explaining that several cosmetic procedures eventually required additional work.

“I learned my lesson the hard way,” Taylor admitted.

According to Taylor, she has since undergone a second breast surgery and also needed corrective work after an earlier tummy tuck.

She explained that both her first breast procedure and tummy tuck had originally been performed for free. Looking back, Taylor said the experience taught her that cost should not be the deciding factor when choosing a cosmetic procedure or surgeon.

Taylor also revealed that she recently underwent a hernia repair after experiencing problems related to her previous tummy tuck.

She said the original procedure, which she had around two years ago, was not repaired properly and left her dealing with an issue involving the separation between her abdominal muscles.

Although Taylor said she is doing well now, she described the first week of her recovery as “brutal.”

Her experience led to one major piece of advice for anyone considering cosmetic surgery.

“If you’re ever offered something for free, just pay for it,” Taylor said, encouraging people to choose a professional they trust and feel confident will perform the procedure properly.

The reality star later joked in the comments of the podcast’s Instagram post that fixing everything ended up costing her far more than the original procedures.

“Me having to pay almost triple the second time around to repair everything 🥲 hahahah,” she wrote.

Taylor has been open about cosmetic procedures in the past. Following the first season of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, she revealed that she had undergone a tummy tuck and had also received lip filler, chin filler and Botox.

With time, however, Taylor said her perspective began to change.

“I wish that I would have just given myself a hug and been like, ‘You’re fine. You’re growing up. You’re going to settle into your face one day,’” she shared on the podcast.

Taylor eventually decided to reverse some of those changes. She said she had her filler dissolved and addressed other procedures she was no longer happy with.

Now, she is encouraging others not to make quick decisions about changing their appearance.

“Pump the brakes,” Taylor advised, suggesting that people give themselves a few months to think before moving forward with a procedure.

“If you still feel like you want it done, then maybe go get it,” she said.

Taylor has also spoken publicly about having her breast implants revised.

In March, she explained that she had been considering another breast procedure for some time because she wanted to feel more confident and achieve a look that better suited her body.

As a mother of two sons, Oliver “Ollie” Clay and Maxwell Dean, whom she shares with ex-husband Clayton Wessel, Taylor said she wanted a “fresher look” and proportions that felt more comfortable for her lifestyle.

Her plastic surgeon, Dr. Daniel Barrett, previously explained that while larger implants may have initially seemed appropriate, Taylor later felt the size was too much for her frame.

After several procedures, reversals and corrective surgeries, Taylor appears to be approaching cosmetic work much differently today.

Her message to fans is simple: take your time, research your options carefully and make sure the decision is truly right for you before moving forward.
