Meghan McCain and Megyn Kelly are speaking out about North West’s latest magazine appearance, raising concerns about the 13-year-old being featured on the cover of Dazed.
McCain, 41, reacted to the cover in a since-deleted X post on Tuesday, August 25, writing, “This poor baby. My heart just breaks for this child.”
After her comments drew attention online, the former View cohost clarified that she was not mocking North, the eldest child of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West.
“I feel terrible for her and believe that kind of magazine cover is no place for a child,” McCain wrote in a follow-up post. “Don’t twist it.”
Megyn Kelly, 55, also questioned the cover during Tuesday’s episode of The Megyn Kelly Show. North appeared in the magazine with bright turquoise hair, facial piercings and teal-colored grills.
Kelly questioned Kardashian and West’s parenting decisions while comparing North’s public life with that of her own son, Thatcher, who is close to North’s age.
The journalist argued that North is being introduced to fame at a particularly young age, pointing to her magazine appearances, music career and live performances. Kelly claimed that there could be downsides to having a child grow up so publicly.
Podcast guest Dr. Drew Pinsky also expressed concern during the discussion, saying the situation “makes you worry.”
North, who turned 13 in June, is the oldest of Kardashian and West’s four children. The former couple, who divorced in 2022, also share Saint, 10, Chicago, 8, and Psalm, 7.
North has increasingly developed a public identity of her own through fashion and music. She released her first EP, N0rth4Evr, in May and performed at Lyrical Lemonade’s Summer Smash 2026 music festival the following month.
Kardashian has previously defended her daughter’s creative choices. Speaking in October 2025, she said she does not want to take away North’s creativity and explained that she is doing the best she can while raising her four children.
Kardashian also publicly supported North’s Dazed appearance by reposting images from the shoot on Instagram with the caption, “Northie for @dazed 🩵.”
