Madonna is celebrating a major milestone for her twin daughters, Stella and Estere, as they turn 14.
The Grammy-winning superstar, 68, marked the occasion on Monday, August 24, with a heartfelt Instagram tribute featuring a collection of rare family photos from throughout the twins’ lives.
“Happy Birthday to my Virgo Twins! Stella and Estere!” Madonna wrote. “So full of Life, Music, and Opinions. I can’t believe you’re 14!!! You live in the magical world that only twins can inhabit.”
The singer shared several photos of Stella and Estere over the years, including a striking image of the sisters standing side-by-side in long white dresses. Other pictures featured individual portraits of each girl, as well as family moments with Madonna.
The birthday tribute also looked back at the twins’ childhood, with Madonna sharing throwback photos and reflecting on the connection she felt when she first met Stella and Estere at Home of Hope before adopting them in February 2017.
“I felt a deep connection the moment I met you at Home of Hope,” Madonna wrote. “You have grown into beautiful, young women. So Sassy!! Like all of your sisters, you do not suffer fools gladly. Malawian Queens. Long may you Reign 👑👑 🎂🎂 ♥️♥️ 🇲🇼🇲🇼”
Madonna added another nostalgic touch by sharing a throwback video of Stella and Estere singing along to her hit song “La Isla Bonita” when they were younger.
In addition to Stella and Estere, Madonna is a mother to daughters Lourdes and Mercy and sons Rocco and David. She welcomed Lourdes with ex Carlos Leon in 1996 and Rocco with ex Guy Ritchie in 2000. She later adopted David and Mercy in 2006 and 2009, respectively.
The pop icon has previously spoken candidly about balancing motherhood with her career. In a 2023 interview with Vanity Fair Italia, Madonna described raising children as “a work of art,” explaining that parenting comes without a manual and requires learning through experience.
The birthday celebration for Stella and Estere comes shortly after Madonna marked her own birthday during a family trip to Greece with five of her children. Days later, she reflected on the emotional significance of returning to Greece with Rocco, recalling that she had first visited the country while seven months pregnant with him.
Now, Madonna’s latest post puts the spotlight on Stella and Estere as the proud mom celebrates their growth from young children into 14-year-old sisters with their own personalities, interests and unmistakable twin bond.
